LUCAS CLOCKS
A PASSION FOR CLOCKS
Lucas Clocks was founded by Lucas Marijnissen in 2010, initially operating from a small workshop in a converted stable and bakery building in West Calder, on the outskirts of Edinburgh.
As time moved on and projects grew, the workshop was soon moved from West Calder to a more central location in Bonnington Road Lane, Edinburgh and latterly, in 2015, to where it is now at Quayside Street, Leith, Edinburgh where Lucas Clocks continues their clock restoration and conservation.
Clocks were always a passion for Lucas from his early teens when he was introduced to clockmaking by the father of a friend in Breda, The Netherlands, and now utilises the skills gained in his previous profession as a fine-mechanical engineer.
For the past 20 years, Lucas has been working as a professional clockmaker, from which he has continued to hone and develop his skills, now specialising in the repair, restoration and conservation of antique clocks and instruments.
Always expanding his knowledge, qualifications have been gained in the Netherlands and in the UK (West Dean College and the British Horological Institute).
